About me
I’m glad you’re here!
My name is Kristen Kheradmand, and I support birthing families in the Bluegrass area. My heart and experience are with home birth specifically.
Although I have always been passionate about women knowing their options and having the birth they want, my journey to becoming a doula began at the birth of my firstborn. My doula was amazing--someone I can’t imagine birthing without--and such a huge part of making my birthing experiences exactly what I wanted them to be. I am honored to be that sort of support for others.
Our culture has strayed so far from what birth can be— empowering, transformative, and a totally normal thing we have done for generations. We’ve put birth into a box; young women grow up having almost no knowledge of or exposure to childbirth. When we reach our season of pregnancy, we are led through a one-size-fits all approach and told where and how to birth. Many aren’t aware of what our bodies are capable of if we’re allowed to be in charge of our bodies and let birth be. I am committed to helping families walk through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum being as prepared, informed, and supported as possible. It is my goal to help you have a beautiful birthing experience.
I live in Lexington, Kentucky, with my husband, two imaginative kiddos, one fluffy pup, and a brood of ditzy chickens.
I have completed doula training through DONA International.
